Melissa uses several therapeutic approaches, depending on the presenting issue and the client’s needs. At times, a combination of techniques is needed for therapeutic effectiveness. All of the therapies used have a sound theoretical basis. It is important to note, however, that the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist and the “client’s theory of change”—the perception that the client has about their problems and the possible resolution—are stronger indicators than the type of therapeutic approach used.
